Again, I appreciate everyone's help. Update for anyone who interested. I pulled the Plexor DVD-RW and replaced it with a more ancient Compaq DVD player and while could not read the Lubuntu DVDs that I burned, I was able to get PLOP working and Puppy Linux (both of which were burned to CDs) and I'm currently running the Lubuntu installer off a USB.

Working with old hardware sucks - thanks for the responses.

If it is still can works with Linux light distro, why not?

If you can install chntpw package on it, then you can still use it to reset passwords for Wins

Of course, if Kali can be installed on it then I guess consider it useful.

And it's worse with modern ones, full of bloated UEFI, spies, lacking expansion capabilities, various limitations...

Agreed - Just frustrating dealing with driver compatibility, etc. And 32bit OS's seem to be going extinct. The machine is running great with Lubuntu and will be useful again after over 10 years of gathering dust.
