Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hi everybody!
I would like to know if there's someone that could help me to find a way to install a native linux distro (i.e. Debian) on my tablet 10 inch.
I know that Android it's linux based, but i would like to make a change and try that route, note also that it's not a new tablet and the last rom it's an Android 4.1.1, buggy and pretty old (touchscreen it seems also problematic, so in that way i can put mouse and keyboard and use it as a laptop).
The specs of the tablet it is:
- Quad core Allwinner A31 1.5GHz
- CPU Type ARMV7
- 10 inch 1280x800 resolution
- 2GB Ram
- 16GB ROM
Thanks in advance to those who will give me an help and sorry for my english (i'm not english mother tongue).
Welcome to the forum. I can't find anyone who claims to have installed Linux on that tablet. According to the Debian web-site, the Linux kernel does support the A31, but they say that they haven't actually tried to install Debian on it. The Linux-Sunxi community support Linux on Allwinner devices, but not the A31. U-Boot supports it, but it looks complicated: http://linux-sunxi.org/Mainline_U-boot
PS There's nothing wrong with your English! I'm actually trying to translate some Italian at the moment, and I wish I was as good. I tried Google translate, but that's worse than me.

Hey situz - buonasera.
Although I haven't tried it, the distro I use has a fork of sorts for ARM. I know you're shooting for Debian, but if you decide to try something else, here is the link:
