install from MandrivaLive CD

I installed Mandriva 2008 from the live CD. While Openoffice is installed by default, I uninstalled it to free some space. Now I would like to install it.
When using the application management interface, I am unable to add the live CD as a repository since it returns an error that "no rpms are found". I can see just one 650 MB sqfs file in the live CD. and this file is not of a compressed format that can be extracted with Ark.

Any help on how to install Openoffice from the live CD is welcome.

It would be easier (and cleaner) to just setup your online repositories (use any of the links in my sig) then use the package manager to install Open Office. Chances are the one on the Mandriva 2008 cd has been updated now.

Easier, probably, but there is the 100+MB download I don't want to endure.

Will a reinstall help?

Yes it would. Don't wipe your drive, just choose the option to use existing partitions. That way you will keep any settings you have made to your desktop.
