install failed


I try to download and install flash player but it always says failed
it says failed trying to install anything and i cant watch video without flash player please help thanks in advance.

what version of ubuntu?

where/how did you get the flash pkg?

you should be using synaptic

I believe you want to be typing at a console "apt-get install flashplayer-mozilla" for mozilla based webbrowsers

open a terminal. Like command prompt in windows.
I believe it's 'Applications > Accessories > Terminal'

i copy and paste what u said and then hit enter is that right?

type "sudo apt-get install flashplayer-mozilla" without the quotes. If you get an error please post the error here

it says sudo user password what ever that means?

ok the computer guy put linux on my computer i dont know anything about a password or user name ........but i went to the root menu and changed it supposedly but when i type the password i created it says incorrect
