Install driver from floppy on Suse 8.0

Hi all,
I am using Suse 8.0
I found a driver tar file for my Xircom RBEM56G-100 card bus. However, the instructions to install the driver as follows:
1. Untar the file..
....I did.. and I got the following 3 files: VOL000.000 and VOL000.000.sum and VOL000.000.files

2. Make an image of the VOL000.000 on a floppy disk using the dd utility.
...I did and I got one file with a new name in my floppy disk.

3. Use SCO (Software manager) "custom" from a shell to install the driver from the floppy into your machine.

How can I do that. I do not have any SCO software or server installed. SCO do not run in the command line.
Is there any way i could install the driver from the floppy into linux !??
I would really appreciate your help..

You could most likely copy the file from the floppy to your hard drive, untar it from the hard drive then install it from there. I would think that this would by pass the whole floppy portion of it. You could probably skip the steps to put it on a floppy and if you can find the name of the driver itself after untarring it, you could do an "insmod <modulename>". I'm not 100% sure about this but it's worth a shot. Hopefully someone else will know of a better way to do it.

The file on floppy is called something like rf0xxxxxxx
I tried:
insmod rf0xxxxxxx
It says:
rf0xxxxxxx is not a module

I tried:
insmod VOL000.000
it says:
VOL000.000 is not an ELF file
