Install Dovecot


Hi, i failed to install dovecot...plz advice how to solve this??

I install by using command : rpm -ivh http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-1.2...el5.x86_64.rpm

it prompt error as below:
Retrieving http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-1.2...el5.x86_64.rpm

If you click on the link you get the error. I guess the rpm has been removed from the above server.

Yes that link is broken.Why don't you install the rpm from the CD/DVD of RHEL5

use yum for install
yum install dovecot

coz i am follow the guidelines for the installation...it said There's a Dovecot package in the CentOS repository, but unfortunately it doesn't support MySQL. Therefore we must remove the existing Dovecot and install another Dovecot package (from ATrpms) which comes with MySQL support:

Look here for documentation for dovecot with mysql. You can also download the source and compile dovecot manually if your package does not support mysql authentication.
