Install a wireless card
 

I'm currently running a dual boot XP/Slackware system and would like to install the drivers for my US Robotics (USR805416) wireless card.

What i want to know is if slackware will support this and how to do it. I'm having problems with running the card on XP, so i think if i could run it on slackware it would be the final nail the XP coffin for me.

Whats the best soloution?

I recently got the rtl8180 and Broadcom 94306 chipsets working on my laptop running slackware 10 using the ndiswrapper module. There is a suse tutorial (google search, ndiswrapper suse). Follow as written. Works fine for slackware.

Linux drivers problem
 

I love to support the use of Linux due to the monopoly by Microsoft but using Linux gave me a host of problems. I have tried Linux in 1999 and 5 years later I am giving it another go. Unfortunately I have wasted my time attending a workshop held by recent Novell/IBM and my purchase of my Suse Prof 9.1. My latest wireless Lan that works fine with XP is beyond me to install in Linux. Billionton's USB wirelsss adapter, USBWL-Z-B does not connect to my Prolink Hurricane 9000W wireless lan/router/adsl device. Not unless hardware manufacturers include Linux drivers, newbies like me cannot use Linux.

My next complain is Office.org spreadsheet has very primitive macros in basic language and cannot offer the same user friendliness and power of VBA.

I guess I will just be a Linux fan using Microsoft products for the next five years unless some linux guru rescues me.
