Install
I started the installation all over.
1. Downloaded Fedora-8-x86-dvd.iso unto a Gateway computer 2. Used CDBurner to burn image 3. Tried booting on the Gateway, which has: an Intel Pentium D processor, dual 64 bit. I keep getting the error "SOLINUX 3.362007-02-10 copyright (C) 1994-2007 H Peter Anvin unknown keyword in config file Could not find Kernel image. root Am I downloading the correct server software; tried 386 and x86? Is there a problem with the dual core processors? |
It sounds like a bad DVD or DVD player-- possibly solvable by just cleaning the laser or blowing the dust out.
You can try burning from the iso file at a lower speed, but I would recommend (for all distros) installing from ONE CD. Then get other stuff over the net using the package manager. |
