Exclamation insmod command ...........?

hi guys , please welcome me to the forum

guys plz i wanted to ask three questions :
1- what is the (insmod) command, and is it a bash command, or what do u call it ?

2- what is the difference between a Script and a Module ??

3- what is the extension of the excutable file in Linux (i mean what is the extension corresponding to .EXE in Windows)
and do games and stuff like use it , or does linux only handles sources ?

sorry for the Dumb questions, but this is supposed to be a newbie forum

1. What is the insmod command? (do a "man insmod" and find out), it's more like a command line client program.. yea

2. They're totally different. a script is a program and a module is like a driver.

3. There are no extensions in linux, it's the same to run a foo.blah or foo.zip, the extension dosn't matter.

1. the "insmod" I think should be the acronym for "insert module". When you install a driver for let's say your modem, you probably need this command. (but not all driver needs this)
