Insert SCTP module at bootup

Hi,

I am using FC4
I want to insert SCTP module in kernel at startup.

I have been able to do it for one session as follows:

1. Go to this location /lib/modules/2.6.11-1.1369_FC4/kernel/net/sctp/
2. Do ls. It should show a file sctp.ko
3. Do
/sbin/insmod sctp.ko module is inserted.
4. To check do
cat /proc/modules |grep sctp this should show sctp module specs.

But the problem is when i rebott the system and do cat /proc/modules |grep sctp, it doesn't give any sctp specs - looks like module is not loaded.

Now is there any way in which i can load the sctp module by itself at boot everytime

Thanks
jb

Mid last year? It was obsolete! I hope you have upgraded since then!

How did you get on?

/sbin/insmod sctp.ko
You should be using "modprobe sctp.ko" instead - it is brighter.

You can add the command to /etc/rc.local if you like, edit modprobe.conf, or use the initrd/initramfs. depends when in the boot order you need it.
