Fedora 10 is end of life, out of support.

Try a newer version with current support, like Fedora 17.

I take it that English is NOT your primary language

What is ?

also Fedora 10 is now 7 versions out of date

it went End Of Life on December 18 2009
-- YES at the end of 2009 ---

so basically you DO NOT install the current VLC on the now DEAD fedora 10

please install fedora 17 FIRST
then have a read through Mjmwired's guides
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f17.html
the fedora 17 page for VLC
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...a-f17.html#vlc
PS the fedora 17 guide will not work for fedora 10

a NEEDED repo for one program for 10 is no longer around
so it CAN NOT be installed on 10
the libdvdcss.rpm for fedora 10 WAS on lvina
that server in not around any more

but
IF you MUST use a UNSUPPORTED version of fedora
then you might also want to have a read through the "END OF LIFE " forum section over at fedoraforum.org
http://www.fedoraforum.org/
"EOL (End Of Life) Versions "
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=75

Upgrade your system to Fedora 17 (make a fresh installation). Then, you need internet to install or upgrade software on Fedora.
So, to install vlc player (if your internet connection is on) is enough to type the following command:

Code:

yum install vlc
For more information, see it: http://linux.die.net/man/8/yum
