Inquiry: PuTTy SSH problem


Dear All
Please be informed that I have a Linux server with port 22 (SSH) as open. I can login by SSH from another Linux server but when I want to login by SSH from PuTTy on my MS Windows client , it cannot get through . Can you please do me favor and let me know what is the problem with my PuTTy SSH ?

What error message appear on windows putty?

Recheck firewall status on windows as well on linux machine.

Also check if you use a router that your port isnt being blocked by your in-built firewall.

try stopping the ssh daemon and try to run 1 instance of an ssh server to debug with:
Code:
sudo /sbin/service sshd stop
sudo /usr/sbin/sshd -d -d -d
and then use putty to see if the server is trying to connect. it could possibly complain about something with rsa/ dsa keys.
