.. Or run # system-config-display
which will also work in CLI.
In my RH EL5 / CentOS 5.4 / Scientific SL54,
I use an xorg.conf created with PCLinuxOS. ( Live cd.)
.. with these lines uncommented, like
# Load "type1"
# Load "freetype"

..can you explain me how exactly can i edit this file
Text files are edited in an editor. Any Linux editor.
Getting the file : Run the live Linux OS.
Save the file ( and / or the edited file ) /etc/X11/xorg.conf
to an USB stick, or to Google Docs.
.....
when you get to the screen that gives you the message asking you to change resolution press CTRL+ALT+F1
This should take you to a console (virtual terminal). Try running the command there.
Thanks all of you that problem is solved but now in the boot menu i can see windows but can not see open suse. What should i do ? again how to configure internet in slc 4 ? can anybody help me ? thanks in advance.

The issue here is not partitioning. Is just so, that SLC 4
isn't including other Linux in the boot menu.
Suse does. ( My boot menu for Suse 11.2 has 25 entries.)
So why not install the Suse boot loader, also grub :
Start / boot the computer with the Suse install DVD.
Choose : " Repair installed system " ..............
... which will go to a Menu, new choice → →
>> Expert methods.
>>> Repair Tool Box. ... And then please choose :
" Install new boot loader "
