INodes to filenames

Is there a system call that let you open a file by its inode number?

no that stuff is suposed to be tranparent

lets say you got three different filesystems mounted locally and 5 or 25 more filesystems mounted on your network.

there is no way for the kernel to figure out what you are asking for with an inode number that might be repeated on different partitions and different types of filesystems
