init: initdefault: respawning too fast

Hi all,
this is the first time i m posting a thread here.
I m new to linux......

Right now i m working in blackfin BF533 processor custom board, Suse Linux,uClinux 2007 R1 distribution.

I m working with serial port transmission. So i stopped the UART for console like console=null in command line args in which i was successful... But i was not able to telnet to the board. Then i came to know that i need to put few rules in inittab file. So i added

id:3:initdefault:

in the inittab.. Now i could work with the telnet interface with console=null.

But if i turn the console on, i get

init:initdefault:respawning too fast
init:initdefault:respawning too fast
init:initdefault:respawning too fast
init:initdefault:respawning too fast

continuously..

May i know why it occurs and how to stop this...

Welcome to LQ.

What Google (esp. Google Linux) searches have you done?

Too bad that you seem to gone away w/o getting any help or contributing to the growing LQ archive of answers.

The purpose of my Q about Google searches was 2-fold:
to see if you were trying to help yourself,
& to save time in helping you to a solution.

Sorry, no answer from you === no further help from me.
