Increating refresh rate? FC4

This is my first post here. I am normally a Windows user, but just installed FC4 today. I am going to try and use FC4 for the next week! (or longer, if I like it)

My video card was detected just fine (nvidia 6800GT) but my monitor was unknown. I have a Compaq P1100. First boot into X and my refresh rate was 60HZ. Instant headache for me!

Since I did not see anything in the GUI to increase refresh rate, I tried selecting a different monitor. I chose Compaq P110, hoping maybe it was a typo. It helped after reboot, as I am now at 85HZ (much better, but not perfect).

Can somebody tell me how to manually increase the refresh rate to 100 HZ? I am running 1280x1024, and I know my monitor can support it. I am a refresh rate junkie, and could have this done in a snap on Windows. Just trying to figure out how its done in Linux.

Edit VertRefresh variable on /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root.
For more info: man xorg.conf
