increasing the Swap partition size

Hi everyone,

Recently I tried to increase the size of my swap partition using GParted, but it wouldn't let me. I wondering if there was another way? Currently it's 795 MB but I want it to be 1GB.

Thank you for your time.

Add a swapfile http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-a...ap-file-howto/ or make a swapfile and delete the swappartition.

The swap was probably in use at the time - even liveCDs will use a swap extent if they see one.
Try a swapoff before trying to resize. I've never used gparted for that (I manage swap by hand), but the website says it's supported.

Probably there just wasn't any free space behind the swap partition... :D
