Increase resolution within Virtual PC

I've loaded Fedora Core 2 inside Microsoft Virtual PC 2004. My laptop (Sony Z1) has a max screen resolution of 1400x1050@60Hz. Unfortunately, FC2 only goes up to 1024x768 when using VPC's S3 Trio64 video card. I tried switching to VESA and it went up to 1280x1024 (I think). However, it seems to have some problems and switches back to the S3.

I've used system-config-display and changed the xorg.conf file directly, but nothing works. In fact, the GUI tool reports 1400x1050 though it clearly isn't. Anyone able to increase the screen resolution within VPC? FYI: WinXP within VPC can go to 1400x1050.

It doesn't matter how high of a resolution your laptop is capable of displaying. MS VPC limits your VPC to a crappy 4 MB Video Card. I had the same problem, I don't think you can fix it. Fedora won't be able to see your real video card, only the 4 MB in the Virtual PC.
