Inaccessible at night

I am relatively new to LINUX. My work system is always connected to the net. When I am at work, I can telnet/ftp/access html on this system with no problem, wherever I am. Others in other locations have no problems either.

At night and on weekends, most times the server becomes inaccessible. I leave the computer on and do not even touch anything. Any ideas?

(As an aside, I don't think it's the computer going into sleep mode, as plenty of times I don't touch the LINUX box directly all day and it's still accessible from elsewhere.) Thanks.
