In search for a good forum for questions / advices for WiFi network

Half a year ago, I moved into a house with three other house mates. We've a very invisible landlord. (He gets his rent, and we have no complaints, but we don't know where on earth he is. For more than a year, he hasn't returned any calls or answered mails.)

The landlord provides Internet with an ADSL-connection, that works great.

But the ADSL-modem has (very) buggy WiFi-software, and none of us know the username/password for the DSL-modem, so we can not even check if there exists a newer firmware. For that reason we use our own WiFi-equipment.

However, none of us are very experienced when it comes to complicated WiFi networks. It's no option to drill in the walls to get an ethernet network. ...or at least it's neither the first, nor the second option.

So we have to try to get our WiFi stuff to cover the house.

I've taken on this task, but I run into problem after problem, and would really need some friendly help.

Problems include both Windows and Linux.

Any proposals?

Where on the net should I go?

Thank you!

It's a good start, but I'm afraid our problems are a tad more complicated. :-/

At this moment, we have four units (two routers and two so called range extenders) that I try using for building a private network (192.168.2.x), connected to the DSL-modem that has its own private network (192.168.1.x).

One of the problems is that at this very moment, WiFi-connected music players can reach the server in the NAS, it works without problems, but the computer I write from ought to be connected through the same route, and the computer can not reach the NAS.
