Helo Sirs,

I would like to know how can i add a startup application in /etc/rc.local file in order to run that application first when i login as a user or root? If i switch on the computer in the morning this application should run after booting the system.I use RedHat 9.

for example openoffice writer or calc file to run as a startup or any other applications.

can anyone help me pls.

I've split your three posts into separate threads to keep
the flow of discussions more obvious and "clean".

Cheers,
