in KDE single icon internet shortuts I made in Windows won't lauch
 

There are many single icon internet shortuts I made in Windows.

Rather than create them again, I want to configure them to work in a Linux desktop environment.

These windows internet shortcuts seem to only show up as html (hypertext markup language) text files in KDE.

3.1.4-4 Redhat KDE is the version I'm using

In KDE They won't LAUNCH to the Web page like they're suppose to

When I click on these icons it gives me the option of what program to open them with

I've tried all three Linux browsers I have installed

(Mozilla, Opera, & Konquerer and its the same thing)

In Windows, with the Windows version of Opera, it DOES launch to the webpage of the URL like IT IS suppose to . . .

Is there any way to tweak this? Is there some kind of 3 suffix extension I can change all at once to make these "KDE Internet shortcuts"?

Rather than waste my time cutting and pasting them 1 at a time.
(btw I have like over 500 of these 1kb files)

I have no idea what format a windows shortcut is in but it would be somewhat counterintuitive to be able to use them directly.

Open the shortcuts in a text editor, if all they are is a url then I'd think all you have to do it just change the file association in KDE for html pages to a specific browser.

Linux doesn't use file extentions to determine the file type.

I realize that, so what's the best way to do that? Are you familiar with KDE or not?

KDE control center > look for file associations > text/html > change it to just open with your preferred browser and remove any other programs. You can also right click on an icon and change the file association for that file type directly.

Actually don't. Perhaps you should just go back to windows, I think it's really more appropriate for someone of your mentality.

Two free pieces of advice...

1) Learn to read and explore and look for answers by yourself, I've already told you where the answer to your question... look two levels down in the kde control center and there it is: KDE control center > KDE components > file associations > text/html. It's really simple, any trained monkey could have found it if they'd bothered to look. You're really making yourself look like an idiot here.

2) Perhaps you might get further in life if you both were a bit more polite to people who try and help you, and if you used your initiative a bit more instead of waiting for answers to be handed to you on a plate. Repeated abuse towards people who offer advice will get you nowhere fast. I really feel sorry for your poor mother.
