Question In Firefox some pics & videos flash quickly once and then disappear. Why?

I'm a very recent Linux user. (Fedora Core 5) I recently installed Flash Player. In Firefox I no longer see "download plugin" instead of an image. However, now images appear briefly and then disappear. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Do you perhaps have some kind of ad-blocking software at work?

Thanks for responding David. No, pop-ups are not blocked in my browser.

When I go to a multimedia site such as www.videodetective.com, I'll see an image for a split-second and then the image or movie will disappear or go blank. When I move my cursor to the area where the image or movie was, the cursor doesn't change from an "arrow" to a "hand", thus enabling a further function such as enlarging an image or video/movie controls.

I hope the above has been helpful in describing my problem. Thanks again!
