I am brand new to Linux and to setting up networks, but have a reasonable level of experience with PC's, Programming etc...
I have a Compaq proliant 800 which I am *trying* to set up as a Redhat 8.0 server. I have a number of machines that are also running Redhat 8.0 that I need to set up as clients.
I need to configure DNS and DHCP, there my knowledge stops. Can anyone help? either directly, or by refering me to some other source. I am unsure wether to start with Linux specific assistance or general HoW-TO network help.
There are some great resources on the following website http://www.tldp.org you can do a search and find an abundance of information on DNS configuration and setup. There is also considerable information on DHCP.
Are you trying to setup DNS Server/DHCP Server or just get the client side working?
