Impossible to download Mplayer
If i type Mplayer download in any searching engine they let me connect only to the official site, but it is unchargiable.
Any link or solutions? I already have mplayer 0.91 rpm, but i van not unpack it. I used rpm -i ... but it does not work. Thank you. |
when you say rpm -i does not work, what exactly happens? Any error messages? If so post them here.
You have to be root to be able to install an rpm. |
Try downloading and installing using apt-get/synaptic, it's just that simple and the forum is full of questions about installing mplayer thru apt-get ;)

Hi, thank you for your help. This is the error message when i type rpm -i mplayer-0.91-0.fdr.2.rh90.93.src.rpm:

I too, but i can not load it. Do you know what should i insert in grub.conf file? I installed Slackware without using his lilo because i was sure Red Hat had recognized it. But it hadn't! So grub treat Slackware as Windows. Thank you. |
Don't use 3rd party RPM's, get the real version sfrom http://mplayerhq.hu, and i'd strongly advise compiling from source.
|
you're trying to install a src.rpm which will install the source code and not the player. If you install src.rpm you will still have to compile it yourself. The warnings are just that - I think they are not too problematic. Get the thing with the ending .rpm but not with .src.rpm.

the site is fine, just running a software patent protest page if you read it.

I can not enter the site too!
And it is since more than two days! Sometimes i would like to give all up! To much problems for a newbye to do anything, altough a lot of nice persons try to give an help. I don't know why Red Hat does not give a media player with his three CDs!! By the way, Thank you. See you in other posts. P.S. If anybody can help me with grub.... |
I get an Http 404 Error
