Importing EPS vector graphics into Abiword or convert into SVG

Importing EPS vector graphics into Abiword or convert into SVG

This is hopefully the last noob question which i have for the next months. I want to import SVG and EPS vector graphics into Abiword on XUbuntu 12.04 .

SVG works fine, but EPS is not supported, the reason seems to be that XUbuntu can read SVG natively but open EPS only through Evince.

Is there an easy way that i can add some Library or something that Abiword can import EPS directly?

Alternatively is there any easy program that can convert from EPS into SVG but keep it as vector graphics? I already tried GIMP and the Image Magick package, but they can only render the vector graphics and store them as bitmaps.

You need an SVG utility to do this. Inkscape has some EPS capability, try that.
