IMAP troubles

Greetings,
I have installed imap-uw, and have it running. However, when I go to try and log in with OE, it keeps saying that my access login authorization failed, and to check my username/password. I have retried numerous times, and I know that the username/password I am putting in are correct. I thought that maybe I needed to check the secure authentication thing in OE, but that one wouldn't even allow me to connect.

What else could cause this error, and how can I fix it?

Ok, I found this awesome link:
http://howto.bzerk.org/FreeBSD/secure-sendmail.html

The only problem is when I try to rebuild sendmail. I am getting a failed make =/. Everything else up to that point seems right on the money as far as directions are concerned.

I'm not sure what you mean by OE?! I'm no expert on IMAP (my server uses pop) but the problem is obviously in your sendmail.mc file. Either that or your m4 engine is corrupted. Look at the sentax for making the new sendmail.cf file. Are you using the correct lingo? I would also make sure that everything in your sendmail.mc file is set up for IMAP. I know that it sounds rather obvious but sometimes a second or third glance is the answer. If you still have problems, repost and I'll try to help. Good luck!
