ignoring dependencies
Hello All:

I've been using RH 7.3 for a while and have decided to jump into the fire and upgrade.

Since yum upgrades automatically am undertaking installing it and having it do the work.

Would appreciate any relevant pieces of advice--I've already started (am installing yum 2.1.11-3.noarch.rpm) and am tracking down all the dependent rpms.

Please let me know about the dangerous "unexpecteds" .

Check out The Fedora Legacy Project. You may decide to hang on to RH 7.3 a little longer. At a minimum you can get updated with the latest changes. What little I know about yum is that it updates, not upgrades rpm based distributions.
