hmmmm.......maybe i should tell MasterC about saint since he doesn't know about it.
Saint is a security tool ... it's a load
of scripts that check for known vulnerabilities ...

It's the successor of Satan :)

is there a red hat 8 rpm for saint?
i searched rpmseek.com and they are all for SuSe linux. Also the search returned a bunch of stuff called netsaint. is that the same thing or is that a firewall itself? Also, is this my only option if there isn't saint for red hat?

Thanks

p.s. commercial sux! not that red hat is any better but that was before i knew enough about linux to know better. the machine im testing is slackware9.

p.s.s. Slackware ROCKS!!!

This is what linux is all about; finding out answers to your problems through research and a bit of effort. If you do a search for "saint red hat" on these boards (a logical first step), you may just find the answer to your question

I don't know everything, and no, I didn't test my firewall before going live. Tink on the other hand, I think you'll find, does

The point I was hoping to get across to you was that you would get your best answers, and the most coverage for such a question in the Security Forum, where I moved your question to. I didn't do it to "teach you a lesson" or to restrict answering to it, I did in in the hopes it would help you Since I couldn't answer your question personally, and realized it's Security related, where else better to put it?

Cool
