I changed my username(in fedora) from user and groups.

Am able to see my new username but when am trying to login with password am getting error like

"could not update iceauthority file home/user/.iceauthority (in fedora)

what might be the problem

Did you change the ownership on your users home directory, and all the files/directories inside of it?

This is a bit of a guess, because I don't know exactly how you changed your identity, but try re-setting your password by running "passwd yourname" as root and then logging out.
