iBurst on Feisty using PCMCIA

Hi everyone
Just installed Ubuntu feisty and have been searching through threads on various linux forums for the solution to my problem.

I have an iBurst PCMCIA card and desperately need to connect to the internet so i can update and get my linux really up and running. have followed instructions on downloading the driver from sourceforge, and the pppoe as well. tar'ed them both. One problem comes when I type the following command:
make
i would have pasted the exact response i get but obvoiusly cant save from the linux partition onto the windows partition.

when i follow the instructions found at ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=135057&highlight=iBurst+PCMCIA+How-TO i get to sudo aptitude install build-essential gcc-3.4 linux-headers-386 linux-kernel-headers and get errors on this. Have downloaded the ubuntu alternate disc and installed it. Build-essentials is listed as installed as well from the . not a clue whats going on

I dont know what i may be doing wrong. Another thing i notice is that all these posts are from years ago... is there a solution somewhere that im missing?

cheers,
