i18n Settings

I've just moved my sites from a Raq4 server to an ensim server. In doing so, the i18n settings are obviously different. Now, for example, all typed signs, appear as an question mark or error (and unfortunately one of the sites is a UK shoppers comparison forum so the whole thing looks quite bad).

My old raq4 settings in etc/sysconfig/i18n were:

while my new ones were

I have changed them so that is the same as the old RaQ4 and restarted the webserver by using /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart but nothing has changed. Is there something else I need to do or change?

Please help!

What distribution are you using.

Fedora I think.

I have changed the i18n file to en_GB.

I think it may have worked. All new forum postings seem to be OK; some of the older ones, for some reason, are not formatted properly, but this is relatively small beer.
