i want to use zenmaps but cant

I am a newbie and need help from some experienced guys.
i cannot find zenmap anywhere.it is not getting installed by
$ apt-get install zenmap

My home server runs Ubuntu 16 and finds zenmap:

You may be running a different distro. In this case, I would perform an internet search for zenmap and the distro. Perhaps the package has a different name.

By the way, it looks like you run apt install as a normal user. This is likely to fail even when you find the package.

Or your /etc/apt/sources.list doesn't contain a link to ports.ubuntu.com.

BTW I've just installed zenmap on my Debian based "Stretch" PC.
Seems that zenmap needs to be run as root to do very much.

If you run nmap without any argument that it what it will do, nothing.

Zenmap has a dependency on pygtk, which depends on python2-cairo/gobject2. So you have to have python2 and friends on the machine just to use it. I finally got python2 off of my machines earlier this year.

Zenmap won't do anything that nmap won't do.
