I want to run WINE on Mandrade 9.0 to access Windows' programs

I have but one question. I want to install WINE onto Mandrake 9.0 so I can run some, not all, of my software currently residing in Windows 98SE.

Do I have to reinstall the software through WINE or do I merely access the .exe file of the software that is already installed on my HDD with WINE doing whatever it does to work within the Linux environment.

I am running a dual-boot system with Mandrake and Windows 98SE. All is extremely well and I am happy with using Linux but I have some Windows-based software that I would like to access.

Can someone please help me with an answer?

Depends on the software. They often put stuff in the Registry. Stuff like notepad or solitaire will work fine, but stuff like MS Office will complain, saying that they need to be installed.
