I want to change my xorg.conf file. How do I become root ?
 
I want to change my xorg.conf file. How do I become root in order to change the file using kwrite? Please be specific so I don't misunderstand. Thank you.

--Open a Terminal

$su
$****** <---- enter PW

#kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf
#exit

If you're using a graphical mode, you can also do it without opening a terminal.
For instance, in KDE, alt-F2, and then enter "kdesu kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf", a dialog will ask for your root password, and then kwrite will open the file.
