I wanna change from Gnome to Windowmaker

I feel Gnome is a bit bloated and I would like to try window maker. I'm on Mandrake 9.1 and I have the rpm's installed but I don't know how to switch to it.

It depends on what runlevel you are in, if you are in runlevel 3 (text mode) all you need to do is edit your .xinitrc file in your home directory to start windowmaker. I believe the binary for windowmaker is wmaker. If you start in level 4 or 5, you should be able to select it from the session menu in gdm.

Ok, that worked. I also figured out that I can just log out and choose which to load up in.

you need to add exec wmaker to ~/.xinitrc if you want to do it that way
