I think I need a driver for my NEC DVD-RW

Sound is working but can't hear CDs and CDs are ripping much slower than my drive is capable of. Haven't tried DVDs yet... I've been trying to find a suitable driver. Can anybody help? And how do I install the driver once I have it?!I can hear so

Very common problems, often asked, answered
as often ... the no CD sound is probably due to
the fact that there's no analog cable connecting
the DVD-RW to the sound-card installed. If this is
the case us XMMS (make sure you have the
libcdaudio plugin installed, which will allow for
digital transfer ...

The ripping speed for audio is NOT the speed
that you see on the add, that's the data-CD
speed, and it's commonly 4 to 8 times faster
than the speed you can process audio at ...
