I see shared win folder, but wont ask to authenticate
 

I have a suber hybird network (win Xp, Susie 9.1, mac OS X.3.6)
the Macs have a mac network... Win and mac have a win net work (workgroup)
and linux 'is on win' net work too.
Every one can see every one else exept linux
(win see mac and linux, Mac see win mac and linux, Linix see but cant acces win )
I got o network browsing->microsoft->work group
and I see the win computer and the mac computer
but when I click on the a computer it gets lost doesn't bring any thing up)
when add a user
smb://david-allreds-i@btallredi/
it says:
The process for the smb://btallredi protocol died unexpectedly.
it never askes to authenticate....
can I just send the pass word... ie
smb://david-allreds-i@btallredi:password/

NOTE: from the mac and win I can brows the linux...
and from mac or win I can brouse mac win and linux.....

PS it did ask for authentication once (when I clicked on the win, in the work group)
oh IT JUST ASKED FOR AUTHENTICATION FROM THE WIN MACHINE (but I don't know that password)
I t still doesn't onfor authenticatoin to the mac.
The win does ask for authentication (to connect to Mac).... I give it and all is well
