Unhappy I need to update my Karmic Koala XUbuntu USB but I need to free at least 335 MB.

I need to update an USB, Karmic Koala XUbuntu to Lucid Lynx. I received a msg saying that first I need to free some space, about 335 MB. What files or directories should I erase and how? Thanks

If you have a separate /boot partition, you'll have to burn a CD with the new version and wipe your existing installation. You have a separate /home partition, right? If you don't, you'll have to backup all your data first. This time make a separate /home!
