I need help on How to connect to the internet on ubuntu 11.04

Im just gonna tell you how i connected to the internet on Windows 7 so that you guys can help me connect on ubuntu 11.04

1. I went to "network and sharing center" and clicked "connect to the internet"

2. then i went to "create a new connection" and selected "Broadband (PPPoE)"

3. then i inserted the user name and password then i was done

But on the Ubuntu 11.04 it is totally different and I have no idea how to connect to the internet can someone help me? Thank you in Advance

*disclaimer. I use a wired connection to my router, and on windows 7 i connect to the internet using broadband (PPPoE)

Welcome to LQ!!!

Here is how you can do it.

Open up terminal and in terminal type the following command:

sudo pppoeconf

It will open up a wizard. Follow onscreen instruction and that will get your pppoe connection configured.

ye i found that somewhere after searching some more, but when i put it in it asks me for the password not the username, do i need to change my log in name to the username or what?
