Red Hat vs. Mandrake?

I have little to no knowledge about Linux and interested to make an easier move for myself from Microsoft. Please don't laugh, but until now all my interest was with MS.

Any constructive input is appreciated.

much of a muchness really.

I have tried both these distributions and have stuck with Fedora( Red Hats Desktop OS no longer existsand Fedora has replaced it ).

When I used Mandrake there were a few glitches as it is a more experimental distro than Fedora.

It should not matter though really. They are both good distributions.

Try them both if you want and see which one you like.

Would you say that Fedora is easiest for transitional purposes? I am planning on first installing it on an older laptop to play around on anyways. Thanks again.
