Question i need help installing a tar.gz file on ubuntu


please dont tell me to look at the readme files, no help there

i want to install audio converter on ubuntu - i downloaded it as a tar.gz file and now i have to install it - im new to ubuntu and codes so please be as detailed as possible

any help, directions, or even a link would be appreciated

use the synaptic package manager to install stuff, it will be alot easier to install stuff

Installing a tar.gz source file is the same on any Linux distribution. trickykid wrote a good explanation on how to do it here:
