I need help changing the trash can icons in KDE (Mandrake 10.0)
Whats up guys, I cannot for the life of me change the trash icons in KDE 3.2.X. I have searched this forum and others and have come up with nothing. Most threads were about changing the icons in GNOME whereas only a few were about changing the icons in KDE. I'm using MANDRAKE 10.0 Official (from a boxed Power Pack set) and I am in the process of customizing my desktops and I really would like to use different trash can icons. Can anyone help me?

You cannot do it that way. The icon is not selectable that way.

Even doing that as root doesn't work. BTW, can you tell me where are the default icons located? Maybe I can change the default icons in the original folder.

Okay, here is how I did it. Go to this folder "file:/usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/" In that folder, there will be icons for all selectable sizes, from 16x16 to 128x128. Since I use 48x48 icons, I went into this folder file:/usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/48x48/filesystems (which is a sub folder of file:/usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/). I then (as root) copied over the original icons with my icons of choice (OSX steel trash can empty and full). I then exited out of konqueror and tested them. IT WORKED!!!!!!!!
However, I am running into a small problem (which i think is a bug). When I put something in the trash can, the full trash can icon doesn't appear. There is only the word "trash" below where the icon is supposed to be. Why is that? I even tried rebooting but the problem still exists. Can anyone help me?

Check the contents of ~/Desktop/Trash/.directory
Mine starts:
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Directory
Icon=trashcan_full
EmptyIcon=trashcan_empty
Name=Trash

Hey, sorry bout all the double posts. I visit other forums as well and my intentions as you can see was to rename the original thread to the "Got my icons working etc..." I tried that with my thread and the name wouldn't change. I am definately not trying to spam the forum.
