Question I need expert help on snort... no google answers pls

The question is really simple to those who can prove they have the skill to answer the question intelligently...

I need the following instructions:

How to install the snort package once downloaded...

-where to go and find the config files and how to configure snort with basic sensors set (editing the file)

-how to change and add filters

-how to set snort to start at every boot

-anything you might think I also need or you can think of that I've missed here

Basically, I want to install snort on RH 9.0 and get it going... I just need some simple basic answers with out WTFM or google for it.... the manual is a mile long.

thx in advance for your help!!!
