I keep losing Firefox browser

I'm running Xubuntu 16.04LTS. Firefox is my main browser and lately it's been freezing. Then I can open it back up and it works well for a few minutes, then freezes. Any ideas? Maybe re-install?

Does freezing happen woth any other application? Does just the browser window freeze or your whole desktop environment?

It's also possible there's an extension you've installed causing issues. Have you tried starting the browser in safe mode without extensions?

What do your logs say? With Firefox you can find crash reports in your user folder: ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports

Thanks Sag. No, freezing doesn't happen with any other application. Just Firefox. And when it freezes, all the open tabs freeze and I have to get out of the browser, but that's it. The computer is still functional. I don't have to restart the computer or power off.

I haven't tried the safe mode thing. I'll try it later (I'm not on that computer now). I wondered about the extensions messing things up but I have very few and have added none.

I really can't think of any clues as to why it's happening.

Thanks fvalenziano. I didn't know I could do that. I will check that when I get home and on that computer.

I tried it but there was nothing there. See screenshot. (When I double clicked on the Events folder it's empty.) I was reading about Xubuntu 16.04 having problems crashing https://askubuntu.com/questions/8198...-being-started and the reason being that there were some plugins that weren't the right match for Firefox. I got rid of "Ubuntu Modifications" and "Adblocker Plus" (which wasn't enabled), and so far so good. (It had been freezing within a minute or so and I'm on it now for about ten minutes.)

It's working for now, sag. I just Googled how to do the Safe mode start and I'll do that if the problem starts back up. Thanks.
