I just wanna upload some pictures... =[
 
I have pictures I wanna upload to the computer... problem is I don't know how. [i know it sounds way lame] but this is my boyfriend's computer and he has a bunch of books that explain all this nonsense to you, i just can't understand it. my boyfriend has tried explaining things to me before, but it's all alien. if someone could help me i would really appreciate it.

1st parameter of a good question is that you tell us what distro and what desktop environment you are using.

As long as you have gtkam (Gnome) or digikam (KDE) installed, the process of uploading the pictures should be as simple as plugging the camera in to a usb port, turning it on, and following the instructions on the screen.

I think he told me it was DSL fluxbox.
he gave me this to put in but it doesn't work for me:

mount /dev/sda1 mntsda1
cd /mnt/sda1/dcim/101msdcf
cp*.jpg /home/dsl/pictures

i get the first line in and it tells me mount point mntsda1 does not exist. my boyfriend refuses to help me further. what am i doing wrong?

Hey,

there should be a menu somewhere that has the same function as the menu "start" in Windows. Most probably you will find it in a corner of your screen. You should be able to start several applications from that menu, including gtkam or digicam or whatever your boyfriend uses.
