ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/

i unzipped install_flashpalyer_6_linux.tar and used mv command

mv /usr/local/mozilla/plugins

and then i check them in the mozilla plugins and all java plugins and flash plugins were there, enabled

Search around here for a bit. There is a thread which speaks of a lib file or something that needs to be updated, after which everything miraculously works! I had all the same issues, everything seeemed to be installed, the browser even showed it in the plugins, but nothing worked. Until I found that thread...

I wish I could remember what the updated file was, so I could give yu a better string to search for. I think it started with lib, and had tow plus signs in the name (++). Search for that, you'll get it...

Good luck!
