I hunt for a ruler which stays at the surface of the screen - any ideas?

What I am searching for is a "persistent" ruler to use with Linux (specifically. SuSE.13.2). Currently I use Kruler which is OK but, the second you call up the document on which you're working, the ruler disappears underneath it. I am looking for something like the excellent Fox Toolkit application Shutterbug; which is persistent across all desktops & always at the top of the screen.

Any ideas gratefully recieved.

Can't you set it to "Always on top" layer?

If you're using KDE4:

System Settings->Window Behaviour->Window Rules->New...

Description: KRuler always on top

Window matching tab->Window class (application): Exact Match; kruler

Arrangement & Access tab->Keep above: Force; Yes

@Emerson - Dammit! You're quite right. Why didn't I think of that?

@Hydurga - As soon as I saw Emerson's reply I new what I had to do but, if I had been less experienced (Durr - you weren't that experienced were you?), I would have been very grateful for your contribution

Thanks to both of you!
