I need to (a) load it properly (b) suss out how to connect to the internet using commands - can anyone help plz thanx |
Hi, welcome to LQ!
And best of luck with that venture. How current is the hardware? The version of Linux you're trying to install is - what, 9, 10 years old? - ancient indeed, as you pointed out yourself. If the machine is more recent there's a pretty good chance that it won't play nice, ever. Cheers, Tink |
I kind of thought that it might've been a bad move...had hoped to load it then download a current version. Have now rendered xp unstable and do not know the commands using suze :(
The Dell i'm trying to load it on is about 6yrs old - if i try and get a recent version of suze (off a mag?) can i load that over the existing duff version? what prompt would i need to boot with that disc or can i just F2? As you can see im a newie to this scene! (usually use Asus netbook preloaded with linux OS - have no idea what version it is) Any suggestions / guidance please Thanx |
