If you want to run linux from a CDROM you do NOT need to format anything.

Yes, linux is like any other piece of data. It can be downloaded and moved around through windows.

You mean I may download a file/software (for Linux) from any OS , but install it while running on Linux, and that this file may be in any windows(hdd) directory mixed with windows software applications(folders) ? That is correct / This is uncorrect

May run and LAMP (PHP) from CDROM or only Linux ? running this has all run-linux advandages ?
